The Demise of POTS Lines and Election of Board of Directors! 

Louis Fiore, Principal at L. T. Fiore, Inc., has worked as a consultant in the burglar and fire alarm industry since 1996. He began his career as an engineer in 1964 working for CBS Laboratories. Lou went into the alarm industry with ADT Corporate engineering department. Later he started a company manufacturing a 450 MHz long range radio system for the alarm industry after which he was a vice president at Repco Security Systems, the first long range radio manufacturer, at 450 and 900 MHz, to be listed for commercial fire and burglar alarm. He went on to become National Guardian’s VP of Engineering. Lou has been chair of the Alarm Industry Communications Committee since 1992. He was president of the CSAA (now TMA) from 1997 to 1999. He has been a principal member of NFPA 72’s Supervising Station committee from 1985 until 2016 and currently serves on the NFPA 72 Technical Correlating Committee and a principal member of NFPA 730/731, along with a number of Underwriters Laboratories Standards Technical Panels. Lou was appointed by FEMA in 2002 to the “America at Risk, America Burning Recommissioned” project. Its goal was to arrive at findings and recommendations on the role of the fire service in the prevention and control of risks in America.
